If you've found Angelic Whispers, chances are you're suffering. Grieving the death of a child is one of the most traumatic experiences life has to offer. We know because we've been there.

In 1999, Angelic Whispers was founded on friendship, and a shared bond, to fill a strong need. We — Carren, Jo and Patty — had all lost children, at three different ages, in three different ways. We come from different areas of the United States, are different ages, and have different backgrounds. But the one thing we discovered we had most in common was the pain we felt and the isolation that came with it.

"Grief and sadness knits two hearts in closer bonds than happiness ever can; and common sufferings are far stronger than common joys."
Alphonse de Lamartine

In researching support groups, however, we could find no single group that fit all our needs and situations. We realized that we were in a unique situation to help other women and men who were just starting down the path we walk together. Therefore, we decided to create a place where we allowed members who lost children of all ages in all ways — not just infants, or just stillborns, or children from just one disease or type of accident. But a place where every grieving parent would be welcome.

"He that conceals his grief finds no remedy for it."
Turkish proverb

A parent doesn't stop being a parent simply because the child they have lost is grown. Likewise, a parent of a stillborn or miscarried child is still a parent. We are ALL parents and all share the same grief, guilt and confusion that often comes with the death of a child regardless of age or circumstances.

We have found that sharing our stories, sharing our pain has allowed the grieving process to become a path to healing each other, and that is why we created Angelic Whispers.

"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars."
Kahlil Gibran

We hope you'll look around the Web site, maybe sign up for our E-mail Group, request to have your angel added to our memorials, and let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

Welcome home.
